Oil light

Hi everyone. I've got a 06 1.2l E55. The oil light comes on steady and when I check the oil level it is fine. However there is an oil leak from around the filler cap. Also after removing and replacing the cap the oil light goes out? Any thoughts about this please?

The obvious thing to do is to check the wiring to the switch, try earthing it with the ignition on, is the light on, lift it off earth, is the light now off, if so, try replacing the oil pressure switch, after that get the oil pressure checked professional.
As for the leaking oil filler cap, replace the O-ring seal that is fitted to it, buy from VW dealer.
