Polo 6C climatronic in 6R

I have a polo 6r with a climatronic and looking to swap it to a 6c climatronic. Tried connecting it to my car, the backlight lits up but nothing shows on the led display. Has anybody done it before?

Hi
I know this is an old thread, but has anyone managed to get this to work?
My LCD has leaked and I would like to uprade the unit

It will not work. Only upgrade is blue/black to black/white LCD
