Hi guys

Have a 64 reg new shape 1.4tdi se polo and having some issues. My front wipers are not working nor are my washers.

Fuse 23 was blown which I’ve since replaced but still not working. New fuse not blown either so really confused.

Am I missing something?

Any ideas on what I should do?

Update.

When I put old broken fuse in, front wipers work when I press down front washers. Wipers don’t work normally though.

Washers don’t work or make any noise.

I’m stuck!

Put the new fuse back in and try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery as this some times resets the system.

chances are, your car's computer still remembers a fault with itself.

So with the new fuse in, try clearing any faults and it should work

check fuse 8 in the E box in engine bay.

Thanks guys. Checked fuse 8 as well in the engine and seems fine so doesn’t look like that.

I’m on the move this weekend and don’t have tools to safely disconnect battery. Is there any way we can reset fault codes without disconnecting battery?

VagCom can clear it, not sure if a obd2 reader would pick it up

Hi mate did you get to the bottom of this. . I have a problem with my wipers. The front are not working , whilst the back one is.

check your fuses please

Checked fuses can not see to work out what exact fuse itis.

Does a blown fuse cause this kind of issue?

Have you done a voltage check?
Check the wiper adapters for voltage you might have a short ,

Hi, I have not been able to do a voltage check.

Its very bizaare i was trying to use the washer in the morning when it was completely icy .

May have strained the motor ?
Damp in the electrical connector on wiper motor possibly?

Yes it can be a blown fuse but Polo 6C wiper stalks are also known to fail prematurely.

I think I need reassurance that the fuses are okay before going down the motor root. Im thinking if its the stalk why is the back wiper still working..
