How to remove handbrake lever trim?

Does anyone know how to remove the handbrake cover? Ive got myself a GTI one with a black button and want to install it. Thanks.

- pull it all the way up
- look at the bottom for a little latch, stab the latch and pull it up a little so it comes up (or down, depends on your perspective)
- cover your RNS to avoid any damage to the screen due to flying buttons
- pull it off
