From memory

1.0 8V 50 bhp

1.4 8V 60 bhp

1.6 8V 75 bhp

1.4 16V 100 bhp (Sorry corrected typo 1.6  )

1.9D - do they have valves????? 64 bhp but they are very small pit ponies

And the one I forgot

1.3 8V 55 bhp (only in early MKIV's)

Even diesel engines have valves, no spark plugs though.

The UK never had the 1.6 16v (which yielded 125 bhp).

The 1.0 had 50 horses AFAIK, the 1.3 8v had 55.

Although those are the official figures they are probably likely to be wrong

Never seen a 1.4 16v get less than 107bhp on the rollers. Even seen standard ones get 120+

maybe 6N2 does but if you can get a 6N 1.0 with 60 bhp why by a 1.4 with the same

Good site - speed is fine on broadband but I would imagine it grinds a bit on narrowband

1.4 8V is 60 BHP and ain't much faster IMHO - they are quite heavy cars and it costs a bit in performance compared to plastic fantastics like saxo's etc - upside is they don't fold up as badly, I'll settle for that!!!!
