courtesy lights and warning sound for headlight

Hi There - My 2007 - Polo 1.4 Auto SE recently started acting up. It used to make a warning noise when the headlights were on when i opened the door. Also The courtesy lights and puddle lights used to light up. Which they are not doing, anyone have any ideas as to what it could be and how it can be fixed. Central locking as far as I know is behaving

I was waiting until someone else with actual experience answered, but as they have not I will offer my thoughts:- two possibilities, (1) a fault in the locking mechanism on the driver's door, like a micro switch, either the switch itself or it needs resoldered to that mechanism's pcb, (2) other is a potential chopped/broken wire(s) inside the protecting bellows at the door hinge end of that door.

from google searches it does sound like it could be the micro switch. Either way looks like I'll have to remove the door card and check.. Unless someone knows a definitive way of checking without taking anything apart

Its a case of taking it apart and testing it unfortunately
