Hi all,

Just got a 2010 1.2 TDI Bluemotion Polo and it was displaying the “key battery” message. I replaced the battery, still got the message. I tried another battery from a known VW key fob from my wife’s car, still getting the message, does anyone have any ideas?

if you have a second key, what happens if you use that one?

Hi, thanks for the reply, there was only one key with the car.

Very interesting. It might be that the reader coil is detecting a vague or weak signal and that might be failing. But that's pure speculation on my side.

Thanks for the idea, any and all are welcome. I’ve got to get a spare key so will find out when I get one
