I'm just mulling over the idea of switching out some of my bulbs for LED versions. Are there any problems with upsetting the CAN bus system and triggering false failed bulb issues? I assume I would need to select the LED variants that have an internal resistor to mimic the internal load on a normal bulb. Specifically I was considering the indicators and brake lights as a little brighter can't do any harm.

I’ve just replaced the side lights, DRL, reverse lights & numberplate lamps.

Numberplate lamps are OEM off the GTI and they do set off the bulb warning light, however I bought canbus error LEDs for the rest of them and these have all been fine. I will be however plugging it into VAGCOM to tell it that it’s running LEDS instead to stop the warning lamp.
