Hello,

We have just purchased a 1.4 TDI 90 bhp SEL Bluemotion Polo 2014 '64'
It had a small service prior to collection, though a doubt much was done as the invoice only states oil and filer. But that's not a problem as will get a proper service when it's due at our local trusted garage.
On driving for the first time the day after collecting it it was making a very strange noise, so when i stopped and took the keys out, the coolant fan was still running making a noise as if something catching.
I lifted the bonnet to find a small flexible pipe that comes from the right hand side bottom corner of the air filter box had got itself lodged in the fan. (as your standing in front with bonnet up)
I got the pipe out and put it in a safe place where it wouldn't get in the fan again. The end of the pipe isn't fully open, it's partially covered with a plastic end possibly some type of breather?

But we can't see where that pipe is supposed to connect to, we would like to know where the end of that pipe should be located please?

Many thanks

Some kind of photo of this pipe and perhaps some numbers/letters written on it, would make the identification of this part a lot easier.

It is just the water drain for the air box, should stick engine crankcase side between it and starter motor

Sorry to bring up a old question but do it just sit beside the crankcase and starter motor or does it connect on to something
