I am replacing the battery on my 2001 Polo SE.
There is a fuse box on top which clearly is not part of the battery. But it is attached to a steel band gripping the body of the battery. My ? is whether to detach the box from the band or the band from the battery and if so, how. Either option seems a bit tricky. Experienced advice will be appreciated.

The band clicks on underneath the lip around the top of the battery. you can get it off quite easily with a flat head screwdriver by prising into the groove thats visible
