Lowering a mk3 polo coupe

A mate wants to lower his mk3 polo properly and reasonably cheaply :D

He currently runs 13x5.5 inch ATS wheels, and is looking for that low and phat look... you know the one.

What we want to know is, what types of suspension kits and springs (make/manufacturer) people have/would use to do this, and how low ya can go ! Plus, would arch rolling be a good idea, or is that only to be considered when going stupidly low ?

Any help is very much appreciated

Cheers

Steve

hey there, i'm using g-max springs!

my advice, don't get just springs, get springs and shocks! the standard shocks on a mk3 (and mk2) are sh!t, very spongy! my car still feels wollowy!

as for how low, as low as u like lol! as for rolling the arches, not sure, my car is having serious problems with scrubing and its only lowered about 40mm, that wot happens when u get big sizes! :?

I've got 8x13's, but havent really lowered it with much care! (it needs respraying anyway) I have 70mm lowering springs, did have 2 hammer the front arches out a bit. About 2 chop the back springs 2day, dont know how he's doin that, will let u know, think he is gunna have 2 do sum arch work tho

I'd say go for the Venom Motorsport 70mm springs and uprated shock kit with bump stops/dust covers and a 3 year warrenty, works out about £300 plus vat, can't beat that! You probably will need some arch work but it depends what wheel offset you are running with 5.52 wide wheels you shouldn't have much trouble.
