how easy to fit a golf gti 8v motor into my 1.3CL coupe?

whats needed to make it all fit / work?

hardhitter would a 1.4 spi out of a golf fit? and would there be much point?

iirc, theres a bloke on the trackday circuit that runs one of the mk5 polo gti engines, but i don't know any more than that.

carbs?

hmm... how about slapping some twin carbs on the existing engine (suggestions please?) and doing a bit of headwork, n a cam maybee?

Metz- yes you can fit that engine and it would give good gains if you used the GT digifant injection as the single point is too restrictive. It has been done by gareth so I'm sure he will tell you what it's like when he gets it running well.

I'm sure the bloke pettsy is thinking of is running a mk 4 polo 1.4 16v engine with throttle bodies and that pushes quite a bit of power albeit top end.

The largest size of the small block type engine that would go in, is the Mk 4 polo 1.6 8v. They might need one of the mounts fabricating to go in, plus a couple of other bits sorting .
