Hi all

Looking to upgrade from an RCD 310 to an RCD 510

My car is a 2012 Polo Match.

It is fitted with a TPK (touch phone kit) which doesn't work for me.

I'd like to know if I am able to use Bluetooth with the 510 and if it will require me to buy/install anything else aside from the radio itself.

Looked around the forums but can't find a specific answer.

Hi. The rcd510 does not have bluetooth. Only the rns radios have it. You can buy the rns310 , 510 or 515 and buy a bluetooth module

Going to have a look around on eBay and possibly look at getting an rns310.

U also have to buy a sd card with gps update. Make sure the radio comes with a code

Will do, as far as the Bluetooth module goes to I just need to find where mine is located and replace it?

This is incorrect.

First, the RNS 510 does NOT have built in Bluetooth. The RNS 315 (which is a newer version of the RNS 310) has built in Bluetooth, but I'm not sure about the RNS 310. I switched from a factory installed RNS 315 to an RNS 510 in my car, and I had to install a Bluetooth module and wiring harness in order to get Bluetooth.

Second, there is no such thing as RNS 515.

I'm not sure if your car has a Bluetooth module since it has the touch phone kit (I think the touch unit handles the Bluetooth connection, someone correct me if I'm wrong). If the car has a Bluetooth module it is installed under one of the seats.

If you want to install a Bluetooth module and the car doesn't have one from factory, you will also need a wiring harness (for example carsystems.pl sell these). Or if you install a RNS 315, you won't need a Bluetooth module.
