6R TDI Exhaust Replace

Evening Folks,

So tonight we went to replace my exhaust can and centre pipe, long story short it did not go to plan, the flexi pipe was already worn and the DPF was needing replaced, the night came to an abrupt halt with the rust holding the end of the flexi sheering from the rest of the centre pipe section.

I am now looking at, well needing to replace almost the full exhaust, DPF and flexi, my guy said this is similar to golfs in that you need to drop the sub frame, it's a 5 hr-ish job (assuming nothing goes wrong) and with parts is giving me estimates of £700.

I would appreciate any comments or thoughts on this as am i having a half or two of glenfiddich to bring me around from this news.

Much appreciated.

Kyle

I have recently replaced the dpf and it is a pain in the ass as you definitely need to drop the subframe. I paid £400 for the dpf which was the cheapest I could find as most aftermarket companies don’t make the dpf yet.

Hi there,

Please could you tell me where you sourced your replacement exhaust? I'm in need of a replacement for my 1.2TDI

Thanks,
Edward

For the newer 3 cly diesels 1.2 and 1.4 just get stainless full system from the exhaust flow flap valve back, gives better low torque response on standard. Ap, got full system built on car Powerflow dealer £269, for an additional £100 the can weld in new stainless flex using the clamp flange for connection to the DPF, and retro fit the exhaust flap control section as well.

Ends up looking good with dual outlet
