Hi, where is the OBD port location on the 1.0L 95PSE polo

Why do you want to know where the OBD port location is if your cars still under warranty? If they find out you have been messing around with the settings or what ever, they could refuse to correct any problems, due to somebody outside the VW group trying to tamper with the system while still under warranty.

Rubbish. Nothing to do with the warranty. The VW connect dataplug plugs into the obd port for a start. It is a purple port under the dash on the right hand side of the wheel. https://www.vwconnect.com/en-gb/

Rubbish as much as you like, it don't take much for VW to refuse to do warranty work for free. It's not only VW, they are all the same.
As for OBD readers, I go o a few other car sites and the amount of members who go out and purchase an OBD reader, thinking they can save a few quid, then they come in the forum asking "I've got an OBD reading of Pxxxx , can anybody tell me where I can find this sensor".
It's OK plugging it in, that's the easy bit, but if they cannot find where to plug it in, in the first place, finding the offending item is another matter .

The data plug is a VW product which came free with my Gti plus and links to my mobile or an ipad to transfer loads of stuff about the performance of my car. My mobile even knows where I parked the car, very useful for a geriatric like me.
No problem in using the OBD socket if you are bendy enough to look under the steering wheel and the VW device stays in the socket.A mirror helps in finding it and plugging in the device!

Well on that front, I replied to a posting on the Ibiza forum where someone had bought a scan tool and the plan was to buy some number plate mounted parking sensors and fix them to the car, then use his probably newly aquired skills to then plug in the scan tool, ask for advice and code these parking sensors to his car, as easy as that - well no, buying the horrid looking number plate parking sensors was all he thought he needed to buy, I explained that he would need to buy a lot more if he wanted to end up integrating these new sensors into the car's systems, so yes, "scan tool does not make you an expert", or in this case a wizard.

I have the carista set up and used it on a number of VAG cars. So far I’ve found it easy to use and as long as you take a screen print of the changes before and after the chance of any disasters is minimal.

The adapter is £15.99 from Amazon and that includes a months use of the paid features.

Yup, that should always be the plan, though I use VCDS for changing things and save files, print out original and final configurations to stay in control.

I only use Carista as a scan tool to have in the cars when out and about and luckily I've got the early "no extra fees" one!

Carista remains very light weight and leaves "you/us" to check out that things work okay, I don't like that approach too much thank you, as a VW Group, and others, scan tool, it works for me as intended.

I think carista is great! Shame not all the features work though, the tilty mirror would be nice when put in reverse, but doesn't seem to work. Same as the coming home lights went be doors opened rather than the lights being flashed.

Think it's more down to my car though. Parents A1 accepts all customised options fine.

It is purple, under the dash on the drivers side below the steering wheel. My VW dealer showed me when I got the car to plug the VW connect into. I find it quite useful for finding refuel options and traffic updates, the weather forecast at destination is pretty useful too, as is the weather map.

Also worth emailing Crista if something isn’t available or won’t work on your car as this is the kind of feedback they need to develop the software.

Yes, I'm part of the beta testing thing so send feedback on every function I've tried.

Nice to know that they to listen and correct antly present issues.
