My boot lamp is not working. I've changed the bulb - but with no luck!

I am sure the switch in the boot must be okay, as the light comes on the dashboard to say that the boot is open when you turn the ignition on.

Any ideas what to check / where to check?

It was the same issue with my Polo.
There are two end-switches inside the boot lock, one of them is bad.
The easiest way is to replace whole boot lock, but sometimes it helps to put it in a can with gasoline for a night.

Is the boot lock easy to replace. What's the part number
