Broken Crankcase Ventilation Valve

Hi. yesterday I found this valve (refer photo) in my CBZB engine with dsg hanging loosely and seems one of the leg is broken.

Image

Some say this is the PCV valve and I’m not sure really. The same hose is connected to the air intake (before the turbo) and to the bottom of the throttle body and to the brake servo.

The first check, i found the part number from ETKA to be 030103175B but this valve only have 2 legs while mine got 3 legs. After googling around, i found someone from drive2.ru forum saying the same problem and shows that the replacement part should be
1. 03F133751B for the broken valve and some hoses
2. 03F103638 for the rubber ring grommet.

The best part, i cant really find the broken valve part number so that i can just replace that valve. The PN 03F133751B seems like just the hose parts which i dont really need to replace. or do i?

appreciate anyone input for this. especially will be great if someone can share what exactly the valve function particularly the connection to the brake servo which i couldnt find anything from the SSP etc. I understand it is the vacuum line, but thats it. nothing more.

If it was me I'd go with the hoses at the same time. If you look, even in your images you can see that the hose/pipe at the top, already has some cracks in it anyway. It can't be far away causing a vacuum leak? May as well kill two birds with one stone. Yours looks intact, just cracked, but be careful to make sure none of the plastic has broken off the end of the valve. You don't want any bits finding their way into the crankcase.

Thanks wolfie. As mentioned, i do want to replace the hose as well, but I’m not sure whether the part number 03F133751B will have both the hoses and the valve ? It’s not clearly indicated in ETKA at least.

On the broken piece, i did try to carefully remove the broken piece, but turned out i manage to extract only half or less of it. So i’m pretty sure it’s already inside. hopefully nothing critical really! So far its good.

Yours isn't the first. Think it's a weak point on the CBZB

i know. ive check the other post as well. [emoji23] As i’m currently doing 260k km mileage, i didnot expect much from this. But funny thing tho, i didn’t have any petrol smell issue. But what i notice, with the valve hole open/leaking due to broken valve leg, every single car start will cause bad rattling sound from the timing chain. I did a test with temporary solution (connecting the broken part to the open hole with a hose, i dont have any rattling issue.

Mine due for an MOT in the first week of April so thought I'd just give it a once over while the suns out. Had a quick clean up and inspection under the bonnet and low and behold my crankcase breather valve had given way in exactly the same place. (been running fine) Not sure if any of the plastic has drooped in of not, no idea how long it was to begin with. I did remove the grommet and remove another little bit from inside that.

Anyways anyone know the parts numbers off hand. I was thinking of replacing the rubber grommet, valve itself and maybe the tube that runs to the air-box (sods law says it will split once I start twisting it) Or better still have any idea how much the bits might cost?

Wooow! This same thing happened to me last week!! Noticed the idling had sounded off, like it was misfiring and checked under the bonnet and noticed oil by the PCV. Went to wipe the oil away and noticed the PCV Valve had broken. Ordered a replacement PCV Valve and a Hose kit on Ebay. I'm now waiting on the order to arrive. I have been driving my car, but just to and from work, which is 10 min commute to and from. The quicker the replacement parts get here, the better because i am aware of the negative effects this could have if not treated sooner than late.
