Do i have auto full beam headlights?

Hello all, I have a 2019 Polo SE 1.0 65bhp. The only optional extra added to the car was front and rear parking sensors. I know I have auto lights but how do I switch the auto full beam on? If I have this feature?

Thanks

I dont think the GTI has it, as such I doubt yours have. I've not seen it as an option anywhere.

It needs a camera mounted in the windshield behind the rearview mirror.

That would need the 'dynamic light assist' option.
You won't have that standard, I'm not even sure it's an option on the Polo SE.

Not standard on the SE as said above, you only have auto lights. Note that they do not come on when it rains / wipers are used either. You have to do that manually.

Yeah, that requires the 'rain sensor' correct?

Whether it's the basic 'light assist' or fancier 'dynamic light assist', VW say a camera is mounted on the windscreen.
They specifically use the word camera, not just a sensor.

I'm not aware of any high beam assistance on the Polo AW. There is however the option for an auto dipped beam on the Polo AW.

Dynamic lights are lights that swivel with steering input (My Golf R's Xenons have this), you need "high beam assist" - my wife's A1 had this, but never used it as you had to set it at the start of every journey by pulling back on the indicator stalk when you started the car to activate and I'd always forget.

In the windscreen facing end of the rear view mirror mounting, where the light/rain sensor (If you have one) for auto lights and wipers is, there was a camera/light gathering sensor underneath (at the front end of the adjustable knuckle for your rear view mirror, facing the windscreen) to detect oncoming traffic so that high beam could be switched on and off automatically.

Had the auto high/dip function with dynamic cornering lights on my 320ED, it was far too slow to dip and using the stalk manually was faster.
In the wife's Sportage though, it works absolutely brilliantly, dipping and going back to main beam perfectly.
Wouldn't pay extra for it though, no chance.

What about as you have another car in your sights as you approach them from the rear?
Does such a system dip then and how soon?

Parents A1 does this, however can be very slow to respond.

In the Kia, it works perfectly.
It doesn't dip for road signs, but if it sees a red light in the distance it will dip instantly.
So far, it works exactly as any decent driver would.
