Drivers window

Hi all. 1st post. Got my wife a polo 1.2 match 60. I have a problem and thought this would be the best place to ask.
Anyway we are having an issue with the driver side window switch. At 1st i thought it was the switch so fitted a used 1 and still dont work. Originaly it was working with the key in the door barrel. But not anymore. I took the 3 connectors off from the A pillar only to find loads of corrosion, so i cleaned all that up but cant get to the A pillar connectors/wires. I tried to do a continuty test but only get 1 wire the rest dont match up. Has anyone else had the same problem? I really appreciate it.
