£8? You kidding me on? plastic, solder and no fuse? I paid £4 for 3 iirc.
Yes, you'll need one for an ignition live. Easy to do, I used the wiper port and run under the dash.

Removal keys can be got on ebay for £1.99 I think

"Single or Double Din Car Stereo Fascia Fitting Kit For VW GOLF V MK5 2003-2009" Not sure this is the right one. Compatibility settings on eBay would suggest they are. the canbus thing is fine

The radio is fine, you can get a double if you wish... USB on these is s**t for charging, just fyi.
