VW Polo 3 (6n2) - Fault: 17559

Hey.

Some time ago (rather longer than shorter) in my VW Polo 3 (6n2, 1.4, 75KM, 2000) Check Engine was lit. I used the simplest interface and (without thinking) removed the error. I did not wait too long for Check Engine to shine again. Then I decided to get interested more. Here is the error:

Code: Select all

1 Fault Found:
17559 - Long Term Fuel Trim Additive Air; Bank 1; Range 1: System too Lean
        P1151 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
I know that the reasons may be the whole list, but most of the internet indicates a lambda probe. Can anyone explain to me how to diagnose such a probe (and maybe even probes) using VCDS connected to my Polo?

You can test the performance by using VCDS and going through a test cycle which I remembered was activated by pressing the brake pedal

Take a look here and then you can do some more reading with pre knowledge :)

After I did the tests I think I ended up replacing the lambda sensor (proper Bosch one) and all was good

Check the lambda probe multiplug. Very common for the wiring to break. It is the one connected to exhaust manifold. The multi plug connector is in a housing by the gearbox
