Gear linkage Bush

Having recently bought my 2016 polo 1.0 I have noticed that there is a clip missing from the gear linkage Bush. Also when I put the car into gear there is always clunking noise coming from the gearbox. Could anybody help with finding the right clip? And what may be causing that clunking noise when changing gear. Thanks!

Is it a 2016 Polo you've got, or a 2010? The text of your forum submission refers to a 2016, but your profile to the right of your submission says 2010.
To avoid clunks and gear-crashing it's essential that those gear linkages are adjusted properly. It begins to look as though someone has had an abortive attempt at their adjustments at some time in the past and in so doing lost the clip.
Edit: There might not actually be a missing clip, you know. On many VWs there's no actually holding-on clip present. That's to say, the way that that end of the linkage is designed on a lot of VWs makes it easier to take it apart and then later re-assemble it. I'd advise that you check with the etka engineering diagram for these linkages on your particular model of Polo, to see whether there's really meant to be a clip there.

You could always go into your local VW dealership and ask them to order in a retainer clip for you - after checking on their system with them that it is missing.

I had a look at that linkage on my wife's 2015 Polo and I think that there is nothing missing on your car.
