15 plate Polo 1.4 TDI SEL purchased via Das WeltAuto from main dealer.

A month old, so thought I'd scan it as I was scanning my other car anyway. 3 errors.

Thought these things had 130 point checks? Before I get onto local Volkswagen main dealer to take a look, which all takes time, interested to what others think.? Looks like Air Conditioning and Central Locking?

Pre sale checks? More like use it until its low on fuel, give it a wash and away you go, any serious issues will get taken care of using the warranty!

AC compressor control issues, normally just a software issue, my wife's August 2015 Polo had that, I reported it but it at first service, but as I checked it the morning of the service, it had auto cleared, same for a fault with the infotainment system ON/OFF switch - nothing reported, and as some of these "low urgency" logged faults get cleared automatically if they don't re-appear, I think that you are lucky that your scan timing caught that one.

Edit:- I'm not sure exactly what the situation is with respect to AC refrigerant load weight, I think that they probably just think that it does leak out across flexi pipes and O-ring seals, so when you buy a used car, some of it will have already leaked out - the other way to look at this is, it is part of the car, so why not check top up AC charge if it needs it if selling with an approved warranty - maybe back to my initial description of what a used car preparation really is! Why they can't just do that and check and clear/fix all logged faults beggars belief - cons!

I did an online survey after I'd bought the car and it was pretty damning. This will be the third car I've bought off-spec based on description, usual video walk-around and dealer description, plus MOT investigation via .GOV site. I thought the car was poorly prepared and told the salesman that. He keep reminding me it was a 15 plate car.

I showed him my 12 plate A4 Allroad that we'd travelled down in. Apparently he doesn't know about cars... says it all really.

I'm sure the air con is a straight forward fix. I sometimes hear what sounds like the refrigerant gurgling after I come to a standstill after a journey. Difficult to know if that's just the system condensing, or it's leaking.

I will get them to check in the next week or so.

My wife got the usual online survey to fill in from VW - or on behalf of VW after she bought her Polo back 2015, I filled it in for her, and at the question "why did you choose a Polo?" I gave the answer on her behalf which was "because my husband has VCDS" - probably a waste of time, but it felt good at the time!

It was a deciding factor for me having come from a Škoda for my daily driver.
