Hi all

Fitting a blackvue dash cam to a 2015 tsi. I need permanent live and switched live as the camera has a parking mode feature.

Anyone hardwired their dash cam, which fuses did you use?

Thanks

Your car is fairly new and I would be fearful of dabbling with hard wiring. However behind the radio/infotainment system unit there should be permanent +12V and Switched +12V supply wiring. If I dared connect there I would protect both supplies to dashcam with in-line fuses, lowest values possible, say 200mA or so.

nope there is only a permanent +12v as it's all can bus controlled.

i'd try find some spaces in the fuse box as there will be both there.

I couldn’t be bothered in the end once I took the tailgate trim off and saw the cable route, so got a company in to fit it.

Thanks all
