Tyre size on 17x8j wheels

Recently purchased some new wheels which are 17x8j et35 and was hoping to just swap over my current tyres which are 215/40. I don't want alot of stretch so how would these look? Would ideally like to go 225/40 tyres but would they rub? Plus then I'd need 4 new tyres.

What size tyres are other people running on 17x8 wheels?

I'm on lowering springs at the moment but also have new coilovers ready to go on as well so I can adjust the height accordingly.

Thanks :)

This link may help you with comfort over fitment:

https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1 ... mm&sr=0mm

And this link shows recommended min and max tyre size for different wheel widths:

I imagine that the stretch wouldn't be too silly given that the 215mm tyre is classed as the minimum tyre size.
Probably cheaper to tyre the 215/40's on those wheels first to see if they give the look you want, than to invest in a new set of tyres you might not need!
