Polo Tailgate Lock / Latch / 2012 Plate

How do I test the boot switch on a 2012 spec Polo?
It won't open on the key fob but we can open it manually from inside the boot.
Tried both fobs and they work fine on the door locks
Two pins have 12v, one pin is 0v and the forth is 5.6v
Use the fob and the forth pin goes to 12v
Third pin stays at 0v
