Richbrook "anti-theft" aerial

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago and its now sitting proudly on top of my Polo's roof. Nice. Except theres just one small problem...
Its not "anti-theft", is it. Some chav might decide one day that he/she likes the look of my aerial and can simply unscrew it! The only secure part is the actual metal rod, which needs an allen key to take it apart.
Anyone else got one of these, and is there any way of making it more secure without resorting to araldite?

I had one of these and it was stolen within an hour of buying it.
I went through a patch of having my aerial stolen everytime I went to watch cardiff city play.
The only sure way it to either super glue it, which means you probably wouldn't be able to get it off yerself. Or to remove it every time you park somewhere dodgy.

i have had mine for 5 yrs now and it aint been nicked yet
thing is that if you glue it in place then if someone wants it and starts proper tugging at it then your roof will dent and then you will face a nice bodyshop bill to have the dent removed
basically if they want it they will have it
thats why life is so crap
chavs!

you could electrify the thing
rig up a nice capacitor charge to give the sods a low-amp 20,000v shock... wont drain the battery at all til someone touches it. and so long as you disarm it before using the radio, no problem with reception....
because who's going to be nobbing around with an aerial with good intent anyway?
best of all you can blame it on the radio being dodgy or something

How about a hidden aerial?

My aerial doesn't get robbed, just snapped off by the little tossers.
I was thinking about trying to cobble together a hidden aerial. The standard mk3 aerial is pretty ugly, and I don't really want to add a bee sting, rather take the stock one off and go for a clean look.
Not sure how it'll work out (I haven't even got a radio in my motor at the moment!). I was thinking of maybe running one across the back bumper. Needs a bit of experimentation really, to see how good I can get the reception.
At least all the reprobates will leave it alone (unless they take a fancy to my bumper).

inside the numberplate light trim, if you still have it..? could work well

just make sure you leave the internal aerials (stick on the inside of your windscreen) that you plug into the ciggy socket well alone, there crap. i bought one after i took my golf through the car wash and left the aerial up. i did realise it was up and asked my lovely bird to jump out and push it down. she did jump out have a go, then the washers started making her give a little girly squeal and leg it. it was miles away from her she wasnt in much danger!

Right, I'll avoid those stick on aerials then, they always seemed like a bit of a gimmick anyway.
The numberplate trim would be a good hiding place, but I think the aerial might need to be longer than that to make up for the fact it isn't sticking up above the car. Having said that, using the nuber plate surround would raise it up a bit higher compared to the bumper. Although I'd have to get the wiring past the boot hinge which would makes life a bit more difficult.

I got the Rich Brook anti-theft.
Heres what i done.
Its not glued but ya not gonna get it off...
I got a wrench and tightened it up... its bloody tight and I have had it ages, parked in town centre, at college and its not been touched.
Works a treat. Give it that tightening with a tool, so no bare handed sod can nick it

Couldn't you just tighten the bolt up hard, then take a small drill to the allen bolt head, round it out? It makes the arial something of a permanant fixture, but less so than gluing it to your roof does

just remembered clarkson moaning (again) on top gear about his 55amg, saying that a cracked windscreen set him back over a grand because of the hidden aerial in the windscreen
