Drivers window opens when open drivers door with key

If I attempt to lock the car with the key the drivers window immediately opens on its own?
If the door is left unlocked, it stays closed.
The central locking system isn't working either, so this fault maybe connected or something completely separate.
Anyone out there able to give me some pointers as to where to start the diagnosis?
