Indicator failure HELP!

Hi, I am hoping someone can advise/diagnose the series of failures Ive had over the last few days.
Vehicle is a 2000 Polo 16V
The following is the sequence of failures i have experienced over the last couple of days;
1. Instrument cluster lights, climate control panel lights and gear indicator lights (automatic) have all gone
2. Indicating left/right no longer work, the hazard button does work and lights do come on. Moving the indicator stalk up and down was silent up until this afternoon where I heard a strange buzzing noise coming from the center console where the hazard button is located. I was only able to replicate this once. Moving the indicator stalk is now silent again.
3. Turning on the climate control/fan dial no longer works and i notice when turning the dial on I would lose power to the cigarette lighter
4. Wipers no longer work
I have checked every fuse and all are ok.
Has anyone experienced this and what would be the first item to check/replace?
Regards
