Driving around today, my radio decided to turn itself off a couple of times, turned it back on and the unit worked fine, until I came to turn the car off ....the radio would not turn off even when the ignition was off, and the whole unit had frozen... eventually removed the fuse to stop it

Any idea what this could be...?

Is there not a guide to forcing a manual reset somewhere, like pressing in and holding in the On/Off switch for many seconds - I'd expect if you have removed the main fuse that you have effectively done this, so fuse back in and see if it works okay, if not press and hold the On/Off switch for maybe 30 seconds.
