Reset INSP now car won't start

Post by stockd »

Hi All - please forgive my ignorance, but I know very little about cars and can't find the answer online. My 2009 (59) Polo had a full service a few weeks ago; the INSP light came on a couple of days ago; I followed an online video to reset the light, and now the car won't start. It is fueled and was driving 10/10 before I reset the INSP light, so I'm assuming the two are connected in some way. Is there anything obvious I can try? My instinct is to try jumping it.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

A random one off YouTube, tbh - ignition on, hold down dashboard button, ignition off, release button and one turn right - that, or something similar.

You may be right - thanks. Jumping it did nothing. Think I’ve found someone to take a look tomorrow, now.

For anyone who comes across this post, I had the same problem. Going through the process of resetting the Service light again allowed me to start the car.

Process:
Hold 0.0/SET button

Switch on ignition (engine should sound a bit more lively than before)

Release 0.0 SET button and press the other button

Hopefully engine will kick in
