The forthcoming face-lifted Audi A4

Just a couple of grabbed shots that are floating around the web, for your amusement -- this is the next step in the development of the new corporate Audi nose -- reinforcing the "shield" profile, with slightly more aggressive headlamp units. We've already seen the new corporate rear lamp treatment in the rear of the A3 Sportsback.
This revision will be complemented by an earlier-than-expected revised front end to the A3 late this year, in response to the arrival of the BMW 1 Series. Don't know what's happening with the A6 or the A8.
In my opinion, this is a good step forward for Audi. With the exception of the A3, their current offerings seem stuck in a "halfway house" betweem their sleek and smooth stylings of the last generation and their sought, more aggresive ("executive with a touch of sportiness") corporate image.
Deek.

In other words:
Just playing...
I like it. Didn't see it coming either.
Nice find!!

Then, in the next entirely-new generation of Audis we get to see the engine's centre of gravity being brought behind the front axle and the front overhang markedly reduced. This was from a direct quote of Audi's new MD for the future direction of the brand -- "increased sportiness".
(Can't recall exactly where I read that, though...)
Deek.

That looks like a mazda to me.. a 3 or a 6 maybe...
Not that there's anything wrong with mazdas mind, I quite like them generally.. it just seems very unlike an audi somehow.

i dont really like it either, but im always like this with new cars. i hated the mk4 golf, now i love them and i wasnt liking the mk5 much but now im starting to like them abit more. and sorry folks but im not to keen on the present polo shape (sorry!), i will like them in a couple of years im sure. its good being like this though cos the car shapes you like are always secondhand so cheaper!

definatly has a Volvo look to the front lights (which isn't a bad thing) and the rear is top notch

I like it. Although I prefer the current-shape A4 atm lol. And going back to what chubbster mentioned with the polo, I'd agree with him that the 6n2 is better looking than the 9n (as standard). Of course I'm not biased by owning a 6n2, not in the slightest...

the front looks really aggressive with the new grille design and "frowned" headlights, but why the huge orange indicators, or rather the really orange glow?

Can't agree, sorry... The current audis look fantastic, but that new one is just ugly. The front is indeed like a mazda (or a toyota starlet - damn!) and the back end is dull and uninspiring and not at all "smart". A lexus-like light placement, even, but without the nasty silver bits. Or possibly a Mondeo or Focus saloon.
different strokes and all!

Meh, old news
I'm sure it'll be a fantastic car (though if the BMW funded Autocar magazine have anything to do with it, I'm sure it will be terrible.) though the rear lights will look allot better than that, look closer at them
Note: Pictures taken inside an A4 Avant, perhaps a couple of test mules together?
(Think of the new A3 Sportback rear lights, then look at these pictures again...)

very good spot
After looking at it again you can see the reflection of the air vent doesn't go across the lights either.
