RCD310 DAB upgrade options

Hi all,
My Son has a 2014 Polo match 1.2 petrol, I think it’s an “R”, but logbook says “C” [which I thought was the old shape] Anyway, I’d like to upgrade the head unit to an original VW flat touchscreen unit, and wondered what ones would fit straight in, and what would go in but would need coding?
There are a few I’ve seen on breaker sites, they all look the same, but have different part numbers. I could buy one from a 2017 Polo, but sure that would need coding, would that be difficult/expensive to get done?
I’m also looking to get him a flat bottomed MFSW, so would like that to work with it too, I made enquiries already, and was advised to get it wired up for the wheel first, then get the wheel done, but this seems complex, need to check if the current airbag has one or two charges, and if I buy one, the MFSW buttons may or may not work, as their are 2 types, and they can’t guarantee if they will light up or not, or how much functionality it will have, seems a bit of a minefield!
Any help or advice welcomed, and thanks in advance
