Head unit for carplay

Hi,
Hoping I can gather some advice on this forum.
I have a 2016 Polo Match, the head unit that I have does not have CarPlay and cannot be upgraded. I have found an OEM head unit from a 2017 polo which CarPlay becomes standard in if I am correct? Would this be plug and play for my car? Would it definitely have CarPlay available?
