VW Polo Dash Warning Lights Advice Needed

Hi all,
The other day I noticed the yellow Catalytic Converter / Emissions light was on (not flashing). light was on (not flashing). The manual states fault in the catalytic converter so we got home and not used car for few days but I started it up yesterday and it did not come on.
Went tonight to do a shop run and as soon as I started the car the Catalytic Converter light was on (not flashing) again but also the EPC light was also on which is the Engine Management Light. The car sounded and felt rough when on idling so I turned the engine off started it up again and it was fine with no lights or warnings.
Any ideas what this could be.
