Rear Footwell Lights 3dr 6C GTI

Does anyone know the easiest way to install rear footwell lights, I have purchased the lights and installed the front driver/passenger side lights using the original holes.

However for the rear I’m totally clueless on how to mount. I was considering using part 3u0881559 (image below) but will this mean I have to cut away some of the foam in the seat as it looks tight against the hole in the seat base.

Lastly what’s the best route for the cables to run from the front to the back. I don’t really want to take all 4 screws out if it can be avoided as the threads for the seats in the 6R/Cs are easy to strip.

Appreciate any help.Image

I hated this job because It's very annoying.

Wiring can be passed from the sides of the car behind plastic covers.

And then they come out together with airbag cables below the seats.

Seats have to be uscrewed, there's no other way, but you dont need to remove them from the car. Just tilt them.

Cut the foam, pass the cables first and then fix the plastic holder.

It can enter in position only in one way. If It doesn't enter that means that's a wrong way.

Great thanks. Certainly looks like fun.
How did you wire yours up? I didn’t even realise there was 2 on each seat. Guess I’ll have to buy some more leds.

I wired together the lamps on same seats and then I connected left lamps to driver footwell light and right lamps to passenger footwell lamp. You can connect lamps to fusebox as well.

Cool thanks.
I have got the power from the front cabin light just worried about having 6 lights running from that.
Did you connect yours to the BCM?
