Front VW badge removal

Hi guys (and gals)

Seeing as I've ordered a black badge for the front of my car, I decided to have a go at removing the front grille and badge to see how it all goes together. To be fair its a simple enough job, but I've got a couple of questions for anyone who'd like to help me out here...

First off, after opening the bonnet, theres 4 (not 5!) little clips that hold the grille in place (circled in red):

Use a flat-bladed screwdriver or similar and these will pop right out and you can then lift the grille off and flip it over to the see the badge and it's fixings. Voila:

So heres the fun part! The two clips circled in red are similar to the ones holding the grille in place, ie. pop 'em out. What about the two areas circled in blue? Had a bit of trouble with these  and as far as I can see, the bottom one should pop out in the same way, and the top one is like a 'socket' that holds the badge in place. How do I get these to relinquish their hold on my badge??

Help?

I've had my badge on and off a few times and all it takes it opening up the botton (blue circled) clip a little and using a little force to get the top one undone. If you just take your time youll be fine. Just judge it by feeling the resistance and it will eventially ease away.

I sprayed mine with good old hamerite, which worked out quite well but would like a pure one, how much was your badge and where did you get it?
