BlueGT - which shocks?

Hey there, first time posting and obviously in need! I am the proud new owner of a 2014 BlueGT, it’s pretty much standard, other than a key mark down x2 panels which was done two weeks after I parked it in the drive! haven’t found the culprit yet but would like to ‘thank’ them personally
Anyway, back to my need, went in for service today, my mechanic has pointed out that the front shocks are weeping, enough that they’ll fail by MOT time. What do the voices of UK-Polo recommend. He’s suggested KYB with a 2 year warranty or NAPA with a 5 year warranty. Or a set of Monroes. Price is all about the same.
Also do I look at changing springs too?
I’m happy enough with the standard ride for ‘spirited’ A & B roads, the car is more than capable in stock form.
Ideas?

If you are lucky, you may be able to read the part number off the original shocks.
I use BuyCarParts.co.uk in Germany and you should be able to cross reference the OEM part number with some of their shocks. I have just fitted a pair of TRW shocks to my son's Polo (because they were cheap), but normally I would go for something like a Bilstein, Sachs or a Monroe if they are available for your model.
