Hey,

I have been looking into retrofitting CarPlay into my 2014 1.2 tsi polo and haven’t got anywhere with it. Firstly is it possible with my 3Q0035820A head unit and secondly what unit would be best to fit?

Common topic on this forum. Hundreds of threads on this exact question. I have the same unit as you want to get it changed. These units have component protection so not possible to change the unit yourself unless you have access to Odis.
I would advise contacting VW Retrofit who’s fitted many of these units into Mk7s/Polos they are based in Redditch just south of Birmingham. He will fit a new unit all coded for around £500 not cheap but not to too bad considering the price of double dins these days. Look him up on Instagram for his recent work on 6cs. Plan to get mine in ASAP in the coming weeks. This will give you CarPlay or AA.
