Road rumble!

I have a recently purchased 2016 Polo TSI from a 2nd hand dealer. 19000 miles on clock! From the beginning there has been a steady rhythmical noise when rolling synchronised with speed and therefore rotation of tyre to road. Sent to VW main dealer under warranty. Wheels re-balanced - no improvement. Damaged tyre tread on one tyre found - 4 tyres replaced - no improvement. Any suggestion on source of this slight but annoying sound?

Sounds like a bearing? What about brakes. Ruled out a sticky caliper with excessive brake dust, or heat from the brake disc after a journey with zero braking?
I find it difficult to identify a faulty bearing with the wheel still on the car, so take it off (check it anyway at 10 to 2 position) for lateral movement. Any easier process is to rotate the hub and see if you can feel resistance.
I've got a thread on the site just now about my 2015 40k mile car. If it is the bearing, FAG or SNR for quality given labour to fit it.

Have you travelled in another similar aged Polo just to see if this particular car is noisier than normal?
I find that this version of Polo does seem to suffer from road noise and rumbles getting transmitted into the frame and so amplified, I'd go as far as to suggest that if you could handle removing trim panels to reveal the frame of the car, that you could fit suitable blocks of foam into as many of the frame openings as they pass up into the passenger cell, that would make a serious difference, so far that is just my thoughts, I've never put it into action!
Wind noise from the top of the doors can also get a bit annoying as it could be a lot less than it is.
My wife's 2016 Polo 1.2TSI 110PS has these noises when fitted with its usual 215/?? X 16 alloys summer wheels/tyres or its 185/?? X 15 alloys winter wheels/tyres - its just a pity as I'm sure that it could be quite a quiet car, or at least a lot quieter than it has been from new.
