vw polo 1.2 tsi 90 6r mmodel 2016 remap 120bhp

Post by vinay »

Hi All.

Recently remmaped the car to 120bhp torque 205nm on 1.2 tsi 90bhp .
I would like to know reliability wise how the car will handle for next years.

I have heard that mechanical parts are prepared but would like to have some feedback from owners.

Thank you all

Your engine was made by VW with 110hp from factory as well and there is no mechanical difference with the 90hp version. It's just a different ECU map.
As far as I know, this engine can easily reach up to 140/145hp with just a good custom remap, without any hardware modification.
So, if you are at 120hp (which is only 10hp more than what VW already did), yours is a "conservative remap" which should not reduce engine's reliability and longevity, as long as you properly and regularly do maintenance and services and use the engine with care when it's cold.

Hi Jay Jay ,

Thanks for your prompt reply.
What about 205nm as it was originally 165nm is it ok for clutch?~

Yes, it's totally fine.
I've seen many 1.2TSI with more than 230/240nm of torque and there's no issue with the clutch.
