Hello all,

Hope someone could provide some insight or better yet a direct link/contact to a shop/seller from which I could purchase this little piece of plastic.

I have scoured both eBay and Amazon, and I’ve also tried looking it up on independent shops. I could only find the default version where you can see a gap between the radio and the storage compartment.

So, I am looking for:
- single DIN (1DIN)
- plastic radio faceplate
- in a single mold (or at least to appear as one)

Any info is appreciated. Even if such facia plates are no longer available, that would be good to know so I can stop looking.

I am also willing to purchase a used plate if in excellent (near mint) condition.

Yes! That is the one.

Just to make sure, this fits on a Polo? There won't be any cutting or adjustments to make it fit?

I am happy to confirm that I bought Pioneer DEH-X8500BT and an original VW facia (via local VW dealership - Lakeauto) from Volkswagen directly.

Here are two less than stellar photos on how everything looks.

One more thing...

Currently the Pioneer unit works only if it's powered on/off by pressing the SOURCE/OFF button.

Is there a way, without hacking and slashing the wires, to have the radio behave like OEM unit (RCD210)?
What I mean by that is:
- when the key is removed from the car, it would turn OFF the radio,
- when the key is in the ignition and the key is turned (contact only) the unit would turn ON,
- for radio to be manually turned ON/OFF when there is no key in the ignition (this basically works now, because the unit is "independent", i.e. the key removal does not affect it).

Side note:
The rear speakers are not recognized by the unit, but they are powered and playing sound.

Yes connect the s contact wire from the ignition lock to the red or yellow wire in the iso connector. The other one goes to a permanent live wire in the VW quadlocl connector
