Saw in some posts here about these chinese aftermarket auto headlight switch, Unfortunately I bought a bad one..
So I saw most of the old post talk about these 2:

I think they are also sold on Amazon and other sites but basically these are the same products.
Which of them is recommend? Or is there a specific product you recommend (non OEM)?
It seems like the bluetooth one should have the most setting options (always on and etc..)

I've heard a lot of people having issues with 3rd party auto light switches not being able to get Coming, leaving home working and auto light.
Maybe on indian forums you could find the right one that will work

The OEM auto light is to expensive and complicated to install for me..

Try seaching for "bend pin 1") you dont really have to bend pins if you have yo just isolate them thinly.

I installed the non-bluetooth version in my 2015 GTi. Dead easy to install and I've left it on auto since then and not thought about it. I would recommend.

I installed the Bluetooth version in my son's 2012 Match and it's pretty good to be honest.

Only downside is that the app doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest Apple iOS, but I have an old iPhone lying about that I can still use.

I think the bluetooth one is only compatible with old android and ios versions.

Are the coming/leaving home features working as intended? Also where did you route the light sensor and how reactive is it?

I'm not sure what the intended function of the coming/leaving is although the lights do stay on for a few seconds after the car is locked and when the car is unlocked. I think that is what you mean?

The only unintended side-effect is that when the light drops below the standard darkness threshold the lights will coming on for a few seconds even if the car is locked and alarmed. It doesn't cause any problem although it took me a while to realise that no-one was sitting on my keyfob or was trying to steal my car!

From memory I took the panel off near the steering wheel and routed the wire up onto the dash. I was prepared to use some force and unscrew a load of panels but it transpired that the wire was thin enough and the gap between the panels malleable enough that I just pushed it through and sat the sensor atop the dash. You can't see it from the driver's seat but can see it if you are outside and looking directly downwards onto the very front of the dash at the bottom corner of the screen. Very neat.

So you are basically saying that when the car is turned off and it gets dark, the headlights will turn on for a few seconds? That's kinda dumb imo
I guess since the light switch is always powered the sensor doesn't turn off. That's just lazy programming tbh...

I think my current switch does it too sometimes, but the leaving-home function is not always working so it's very annoying

Yes but for the reward of never having to switch my lights on or off it's worth it.

Thinking about it though it could be that power is cut to the lights when the CANBUS system goes to sleep which is, what, 10 minutes? I live close to work and often get home before it gets totally dark so maybe it only occurs when I get out of the car before the darkness threshold has been reached but it is reached before CANBUS has switched off once I'm in the house.

The one I have Isn't working for most of the time..

Yes, I believe so. I think it works whether it's light or dark.
