Door locking problem

My 2008 polo has a problem where when I lock it from the driver's side the key gets sort of jammed and it unlocks again when I finally get it out, and then the windows come down. It doesn't happen every time but it's frustrating when it does as it's impossible to lock except from the inside and I have to get out from the passenger side and manually lock that door...any one know what might be going on?
