Polo 9n3 gti loss of power

Hi there can anyone help me out i bought a polo 9n3 gti last week it drives normal but the car feels lazy and slow as soon as I give petrol its not pulling as it should its not like the other standard polo 9n3 gti I drove and today the car started smoking alot then suddenly stopped a small ticking sound is coming from the engine (its not bearing knock)
