Hi,

New here and wondering if anyone can help with broken bonnet latch which i've now had removed, but still trying to get under the bonnet to fill my coolant tank.

I've seen people poking bits of wire through the front of the car but don't trust myself with that.

Have also read about giving the wire inside the car under the dash a good sharp tug with a set of pliers.

I notice a wire which was under the now-removed latch, and it has a small grey ball at the end of it. Would this be the one to pull?

I've attached a photo of what it looks like.

Can anyone advise at all?

Many thanks in advance!

Yes that’s the bonnet release cable pictured, hold the outside (black piece) and pull the ball end with pliers as you suggested.
If the mechanism is in good working order and the other end of this cable is still connected you should be able to open the bonnet.
More often that not the latch is seized due to lack of maintenance causing the cable to become tight and the interior handle to fail , as in your case.
Once you have the bonnet open replace the latch, cable and handle would be my advise
