1999 1.4 Auto gear display indicator

Hi folks,
Does anyone know where I might be able to get (or have a part number for) the gear selector indicator for a Polo Auto? Mobile mechanic poked a hole in it to release the shift lock (dodgy brake light switch) and several re-pokings later on it's way back to mine, the plastic strip with PRNDL etc on it has pretty much disintegrated.
All I can find on fleabay is a complete surround with gearknob and everything but it's a) in Germany b) German (therefore LHD) and c) the best part of £50!
Not really even sure what to search for!
At some point I guess I'll do a trawl of the scrap yards but figured I'd ask here first.
