(2010 1.4) do indicator stalks and wiper motor need coding to car? Bcm?

Hi

I’m attempting to fix faulty wipers. I’ve been told the bcm is probably faulty, however now with new wiper stalks on there’s loads of warning lights coming up on the car.

Do the wiper stalks need to be coded to the car? How about the motor? If not, Is it best to replace the original motor and stalks, and replace the bcm (which will need coding?? How do I do this?). Or for the stalks Id it the ecm?

Thank you.

I've changed the stalks, but kept the original slip ring and had no error codes of lights.
If you changed the slip ring make sure it's compatible with the car. If the donor car didn't have esp or abs(i'm not sure which) and you do, the slip rings will not be interchangeable and it might throw some errors.
