Hi guys,

I’m new here and I finally have an excuse to stop procrastinating and become a member of the forum rather than being a background reader! I own a 2010 1.6 TDI SEL and it is currently on 55,000 miles but there has been a problem with its capability to lock recently.

I noticed today that randomly, after no history of doing so, the auto-locking feature when you start driving locked and unlocked the car several times, and through the journey it must’ve temperamentally locked and unlocked (sometimes several times in quick succession) every 2-3 minutes.

It bugged me but to my horror and out of curiosity having locked my door after parking up I decided to make sure it was actually locked… and unfortunately it isn’t and it will not lock whatsoever! This has happened very quickly and I cannot decipher what it may be so I would really appreciate any assistance from any of you if possible - thank you!

Do you have access to a OBD scan tool like OBDeleven VCDS etc?

It might be that one of the locks in the doors might have gone bad.

do you have this issue on one door or all of the doors?

Hope you’re well

This issue is with all the doors, none of them lock despite clicking it on the fob and the noise alerting me to the car being locked being made
