Polo BlueGT - Buying Advice and Mileage

Hi....

Looking at buying either a 13 or 14 plate Polo BlueGT ACT. Whats the general consensus on these now in 2021, are they reliable even at high mileage such as 80k, this is with a view to keep it up to say 125k. What should I look out for?

I have found previous posts that suggest these cars are quite reliable but these posts seem to be from a few years ago. Is there a difference between a 13 and a 14 plate? Are the engines the same from 13 all the way to 16?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Why not take a facelifted model '6C'? There is nothing wrong with the pre-facelift, but the facelifted version will give you a sizeable technical upgrade over the 6R.
On the BlueGT the difference is a bit harder to see, but there are distinct features like the tail lights and 9-button row above the radio (pre-FL has 7).

Thanks for that. I would consider what you said but my budget is restricting me to 13-14 plates only :(

I am running a 2014 Polo BlueGT which now has 106,000 miles. No issues mechanically at all although there are 2 small electrical issues with the 3rd level brake light and alarm system which I am currently trying to diagnose. The car still drives incredibly smoothly and the interior has held up really well, you would not tell it has done so many miles.
